Today marks the first of 30 days (9th month is the Hijri Calender) of the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan is a Islamic religious celebration by fasting from sun-up to sun-down (timing vary from day to day depending on dawn and dusk) which includes refraining from "Eating, drinking and smoking are not allowed between dawn (fajr), and sunset (maghrib). During Ramadan, Muslims are also expected to put more effort into following the teachings of Islam by refraining from sexual intercourse (during fasting), violence, anger, envy, greed, lust, angry and sarcastic retorts, and gossip." Wikipedia - Ramadan.

Aperantly, the first Ramadan occured in 610 AD when Mohammed (PBUH) was visited by the angel Gabriel near Mecca and told him to pass on the stories of God, which later became the Qur'an.

Living in Dubai and being non-muslim, this makes for an uncomfortabe situation as I am indeed a smoker as well as an eater, and drinker and the tempurature outside is still hovering around 43 to 44 degrees C. All non-muslim people living in Islamic countries have to respect the religionand refrain as well from all activities. What is especially anoying is the fact that all entertainment is also cancelled. All live music at bars, all dynamic lighting, and all fun = CXL. Rad.
I have to say I am more then ever happy to return to my motherland in 20 days. I have been here for 14 months, including 2 Ramadans. I have had enough.

So here's the deal so far...

I have:

1) Quit my job in Dubai
2) Booked a one way flight to Toronto landing on 14th October
3) Booked my first of 2 exams for the 19th October (most prbably the second will be late December or early January)
4) Studied for exam 1 (in process)

I am now ready to start life. I feel great.

I do however still need to find a job when I get back, and from what I understand that may be hard in the Windsor area.

Finland

Well i have now been to Finland. It was quite awesome. The people there are really weird at first but when you get used to them their system works. They dont talk to people until you ask them a question then they dont shut up. Me and Nikki stubled upon the band Cheron playing in some bar so we went in and that was rad, so good live. Nikki new all the words cause she likes them, i do now too. We drank a lot, my sisters and dad and I. You can drink on the streets there which is plenty cool to say the least. Im in Estonia now so we will see how that turns out. I leave here in 4 days for Prague and im there for a week, then i go to Dubai for a month then back to Canada to live. I really like Northern Europe though.

So after paying everything that I had saved off to a "new surprise" I am left with nothing...zero...00...

I get pains in my stomache eveytime I think about having to stay here alone in this country and I dont think it's that good for me.

I was supposed to be home in 6 days but it was all robbed from me so fast.
